More than I could chew

I tried the Marmotte - and after many hours I'm afraid that I bonked.

This is the horrible cyclist's "bonk" - not to be confused with the wider use of the term.

I will succeed in this matter. (The Marmotte, that is)

That profile is pretty amazing. 160 ks and 5000 metres of climbing. Wow. How far did you get, if you don't mind me asking?

110 Km, 3000 metres before conking out at Valloire after the Telegraph. http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Alpine-Folly-2 "Show Elevation" reveals an unexpected bonus climb at 70k because of a road closure and a bike race hot on our heels. If only one can get over Galibier then there is a long downhill rest before Alpe d'Huez - which, apart from the first bend, is easy. Galibier however is murderously steep and freezing cold to boot. Next time.
